Speaker : Hai-Wen Ge Abstract: An Introduction of PDF Method for Turbulent Flows PDF(Probability Density Function) method is a potential tool in the research of turbulent flows, especially reactive flows. PDF method treats the effects of convection, reaction, body forces and the mean pressure gradient exactly. Ony the term of fluctuating pressure gradient and molecular transport should be modelled. Since the joint PDF transport equation is a high-dimension equation, Monte-Carlo method is used to solve the equation. The aim of this presentation is to provide a basic idea of PDF method.
