4th Workshop on Measurement and Computation of Turbulent Spray Combustion (TCS4)

September 8, 2013, Çeşme – Izmir (Turkey)

The general aim of this workshop is to advance capabilities for the computation of reacting and non-reacting turbulent spray flows by facilitating strong interactions between experimentalists and modelers.

In TCS4, as in the previous TCS workshops, we had interactive discussion between established experts and young researchers. One invited lecture, along with presentations on target test cases, initiated discussions, whereas participants had the opportunity to present their work in contributed poster presentations. Furthermore, an update was provided on all progress since TCS3. An important aspect of this workshop was round-table discussions, which focused on the assessment of state-of-the-art experimental as well as computational techniques in spray combustion. The invited lecture was given by Prof. Mark Linne from Chalmers University, Sweden. The program of TCS4 can be found here.

The workshop takes place on Sunday September 8, 2013. This is the day preceding the 8th Mediterranean Combustion Symposium, held in Çeşme – Izmir (Turkey). The workshop is held at the same venue.

We invite you to present a poster on your recent work on Turbulent Combustion of Sprays at the workshop. To submit a poster you should send
- as soon as possible a title and list of authors
- before September 1, 2013 a one page abstract.
This information is to be sent to Prof. D. Roekaerts with copy to Elise Meerburg. Thanks very much in advance for your contributions. We are looking forward to meeting you at the workshop.

The agenda of the TCS4 Workshop will involve a session on target spray flame calculations, for which data from the Sydney spray burner may be utilised. If you plan to contribute, please contact Dr. Nakul Prasad for further instructions.

Workshop registration is closed. Regular registraion fee was €80, ERCOFTAC member fee €40 and students' registration was free.

Delegates are responsible for their hotel reservation, which must be made through this form. Please note that delegates who do not wish to stay in the Ilica Hotel must pay an extra daily fee of €35. Airport transfer to the hotel and back to the airport may be arranged here.

The workshop is co-organized by ERCOFTAC special interest group 28 "Reactive Flows", the research group "Multiphase Flows and Combustion" at IWR, Heidelberg University, the TU Darmstadt and the Belgian Section of the Combustion Institute.
